A closer look at the nine finalists of the WSOP Main Event
Now the final table of the WSOP Main Event has been decided the final nine players are all up for close scrutiny.
The World Series of Poker is drawing to a close and their main event is just down to nine players, here is a closer look at the nine who will be competing in November for the $8 million prize.
Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi is the most accomplished of the nine. He has 23 WSOP cashes totaling over $2 million and has won over $8.6 million in live tournaments. He won his first bracelet this year, winning the $50K Players Championship.
Jason “PBJazz” Senti is an instructor at poker training site BlueFire Poker. He plays cash games online from $5/$10 to $50-$100. He has only won cash in one tournament, last year’s WSOP heads-up world championship.
Joseph “subiime” Cheon is known for his online playing. He has won $820K in cashes and $270K in profit. His biggest live cash was at the WSOP Circuit even in Harrah’s Rincon in march.
John “jrd312” Dolan is a fairly accomplished player. He has won $222K in live tournaments. He also has success online winning the Full Tilt $1K Monday as well as the Sunday Mulligan at FTP, the Sunday Warmup and the $100 daily rebuy.
Jonathan Duhamel has the chip lead when they return in November. Over the last two days his chips went from 4 million to over 60 million. He has won two big live tournaments, the European Poker Tour and at this year’s WSOP.
John “$JMONEY$: Racener has had more live tournament success than everyone except Mizrachi, he also has success online. He has won over a million in live tournaments and has won 18 five figure sums online.
Mathew Jarvis has had no prior WSOP cashes, he’s been up with the chip leaders since the start of day 7 and before the main event had won $60K at the tournament.
Soi (Cuong) Nguyen is the least experienced player at the final table and the main event is only his fourth live poker tournament. In terms of chips he lies in the middle of the rest of the players.
Filippo Candio is a member of Team PokerStars. However, he seems to have switched to Full Tilt now as he has been seen wearing their clothes. In 2009 he won the Italian Championship for $185K.
