US Online Gaming could be Legalised this Year
Across the globe there is more and more legalisation of online gaming. It looks like it won’t be too long until online gaming is legal around the world.
Thanks to the recent credit crunch, most western economies are still in trouble and governments are beginning to realise that the extra revenue generated from online gaming would be very helpful.
Italy is one of the latest countries to generate revenue from online gaming and now France and British Columbia are following the same route. There are many countries which have tried (and failed), such as the US, to stop their citizens from gaming online, but this has in fact just made people who run illegal sites very rich.
Players from Europe and the UK can play legally at reputable online casino sites such as William Hill Casino and William Hill Poker, but for US players, there are restrictions when it comes to such sites.
The best of the real money sites follow the rules set by the US government and therefore will not accept deposits from US citizens. However, there is a now large amount of pressure on the US to change legislation.
There are many analysts who predict that it could be as early as later this year that some US states such as New Jersey begin to allow online gaming. Once they do, and begin to financially benefit from it, other states are sure to follow.
